Important Facts About Car Painting
You’ll be able to learn quite a bit by watching someone do their job. Typically, there is so much involved than you could imagine. I knew somebody once who made a living doing car painting, and although I really had no idea what was involved, I was stunned about how much profit he made for every vehicle or truck he painted. He was typically sloppy in other areas of life, but when it came to his own work, he did such a fantastic job that folks came from all over just to have him do their own vehicle. They always knew they were getting amazing work and attention to detail, and that was all that counted.
I went to work with him one day because he was near pals of mine. I stuck around for a little while to observe him do his car painting, mostly on used cars. Although he appeared to be quick at what he was doing, you can see the love in every detail and each move that he made. He took his car painting seriously, and that most likely came from his own love of the car. The care he took in marking off the parts of the vehicle before painting was astounding in detail, though he was very efficient with his movements. If dealers had him repaint all of their own used cars before selling, they would turn quite a profit!
Car painting for used cars could be expensive, but in case you don’t want to spend very much, you might have to deal with the job that you get. Some are great, but you want to find somebody like my buddy who took pride in the car painting job. The difference will be noticeable. Some specialise in regular painting, meaning, you can get your vehicle in a new color, and others could add details. If you want flames on your vehicle, there is somebody out there that can do that for you.
Finding somebody for car painting is usually not that hard, but the best way to find somebody great is to go by word of mouth. Ask around for actual recommendation, and see which names come up the most. Car painting is a lot like cutting hair or painting a portrait. Some people are just talented and have a love of what they do, and their own work will stand out above others.
Make sure you ask for details about how many coats you can get, what colours they have access to, and what to expect. Good painters may have a long list of people in line in front of you, but that only tells you that they are great at what they do.
