Marathons that take place in big metropolitan areas such as the New York Marathon draw thousands of participants every year to try their best to complete the 26.2 miles in the best way they can. Fans of the racers line the race route the whole way cheering for them. The race that all serious long distance runners want to race in is the Boston Marathon that has strict elimination times and you have to qualify to be able to race in it.

Dog racing is the least followed of all of these types of racing events. Typically greyhounds are used to race as their long legs and lean bodies make them very fast racers. Unlike horse racing, this race is purely up to the animal as they run after a mechanical rabbit around the track. Many dog lovers, like visiting a dog race track to watch these beautiful animals run.
